It is said about rhinoplasty, that “It can be more difficult to please the surgeon than the patient”. I’m not sure that is completely accurate, but there is something to it. I think it reflects the multitude of variables that are at play.
Nevertheless, some results shine out as great successes. It can be difficult to pinpoint why exactly a nose has been changed from good to great, or super attractive say, but you know it when you see it. And then, if you measure the angles and the lengths and the widths and the proportions, it becomes evident that the population measurements or numbers magically define what looks good. In other words, the closer to average we get with these measurements, the more attractive a nose becomes. This is not completely true, of course, as a rule, it’s a good one to follow for the rhinoplasty surgeon, or even the patient seeking a rhinoplasty. Some of the variables to respect are some of the cultural features of a nose that define the cultural prettiness of a nose. These features are always worth respecting.
This lady’s rhinoplasty result is one of these cases where you know it looks good, and so of course I’m intrigued in asking myself ‘Why?’. Sure enough, all of the measurements and angles and proportions pan out to be what we had hoped for, and it looks good.
